Verginese Castle
The "Delizia del Verginese" was one of the many
castles that the Lords of Este built in the countryside to go
hunting and to spend the summertime far from the sultriness of the
town. Designed by the architect Girolamo da Carpi under the
commitment of Alfonso I d'Este, was a gift to his lover, the
beautiful courtesan Laura Dianti.

Delizia del Verginese
A magnificent conservative restoration has bring to a
new
life this elegant little castle, now used for art exhibitions and
concerts. In this moment and until the end of May 2007 you can visit
the important exhibition "Mors
Immatura, the Fadiens and their necropolis". It is opened to the
visitors from Tuesday to Sunday.
The brolo, or
renaissance garden has been recently
reopened.
